The best paste vinyl ever
To celebrate two decades of parties in Austin during SXSW, Paste Magazine threw “The Best Paste Party Ever.” I was asked to design the album cover and packaging for “The Best Paste Vinyl Ever,” a compilation record featuring performances from past Paste parties available exclusively at the event.

High Noon at High Noon
What do you get when you have a series of shows starting at 12 pm, and located at High Noon, an iconic Austin bar/venue? “High Noon at High Noon” was the only direction I was given for the 2023 Paste Austin Showcase, and I ran with it to create this look for the whole event. Assets I designed included stage backdrops, laminates, web/social media images, and a large print schedule hung at the venue.

East Austin Block Party
I designed all of the same materials for Paste’s bigger and better event at High Noon the next year, and this time Ilegal Mezcal, the main sponsor of the event, was involved through the whole process. I worked with members of Paste and Ilegal’s team on something that felt like the combination of their two brands, and this was the direction we landed on for Paste’s “East Austin Block Party.”

Dialogues & decibels
Along with the music showcase at SXSW 2025, Paste also held Dialogues & Decibels through the AV Club, their pop culture and entertainment vertical. While bands rocked the other stages, AV Club journalists hosted panels and interviews with some of the actors, writers, and directors behind the festival’s most exciting premieres. Side note: It’s a crazy feeling to see Matthew McConaughey sitting in front of something you drew.

Paste 20th anniversary sampler
The first thing I was hired to design for their events during SXSW was a compilation album of recordings from Paste’s sessions throughout the years. This vinyl record was produced for Paste’s 20th anniversary, and was given to attendees of their giant anniversary party in Austin. The album art features references to Paste’s origins and present, and is still a favorite piece of art among staff.
